Recognize and correct inappropriate shifts in verb voice and mood (CCSS L.8.1.d)
In one's own and others' drafts, identify unjustified shifts in voice (active to passive within related sentences) or mood (indicative to imperative to interrogative without rhetorical purpose). Apply the Pass-2 detection routine: circle every main-clause verb, label voice and mood, ask 'did I shift for a reason?' If no, revise.

Prereqs
Common misconceptions
- Treats every voice or mood shift as wrong (over-correction — some shifts serve real purposes).
- Misses subtle shifts (e.g., the passive 'was found' embedded in a paragraph of active sentences).
