Use synonyms and antonyms for precise word choice (L.4.5.c, L.4.3.a)
Distinguish synonyms (similar but not identical meanings) from antonyms (opposite meanings). Use the synonym-gradient strip (MG-15) to pick the PRECISE word for the meaning intended (warm vs. hot vs. scorching; sad vs. disappointed vs. miserable vs. devastated). Apply in revision — replace the first-pick word with the gradient-precise word. Use antonyms thoughtfully to sharpen sentences. Use a G4 thesaurus.

Common misconceptions
- Treats all synonyms as interchangeable; misses the intensity gradient (warm and scorching are NOT swappable).
- Uses a thesaurus to pick the most impressive-sounding word, losing precision for show.
