Apply the 8-criterion peer-editing rubric to a partner's persuasive draft

Read a partner's persuasive draft and apply the MG-13 8-criterion rubric. Mark each criterion YES / PARTLY / NO, write a one-line specific note (quote or example), and suggest ≥1 named revision move for each PARTLY/NO. Do NOT re-write the partner's draft. Confer briefly; the writer picks up the pencil last.

Common misconceptions
  • Re-writes partner's draft instead of marking the rubric and conferring.
  • Marks 'YES' on every criterion to be nice, defeating the rubric's purpose.
