Capitalize the FIRST and LAST word of a title; capitalize all important words (nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs); lowercase short articles, prepositions (<5 letters), and coordinating conjunctions unless they are the first or last word. Apply L.4.2.b commas and quotation marks to direct speech and to quoted material from a text. Apply L.4.2.c comma before a coordinating conjunction in a compound sentence.

Common misconceptions
- Capitalizes every word of a title (including 'the', 'and', 'of') OR capitalizes only the first word.
- Omits comma before FANBOYS coordinator in a compound sentence, producing a comma-splice OR a run-on.
