eng.g7.f.res.quote_sandwich_integration
Integrate evidence with the four-part quote sandwich (CCSS W.7.8; W.7.2.b)
Embed source evidence using the four-part quote sandwich: SIGNAL PHRASE (names source for reader context — 'According to Nakate...'), QUOTE (in quotation marks), PARENTHETICAL CITATION ((Nakate 47)), INTERPRETIVE SENTENCE ('This shows that...'). The interpretive sentence is the most important slice — it tells the reader WHY you cited. Vary signal phrases; vary interpretive moves.

Prereqs
Common misconceptions
- Drops a quote without signal phrase or interpretive sentence — 'naked quote' style.
- Interpretive sentence merely restates the quote rather than analyzing or applying it.
