Audit 5 sentences for nominalization. For each, apply Williams's actor-action routine. Revise where nominalization doesn't earn its place; keep where it does. 1. Nominalization earns its place when the action IS the topic.
2. Watch expletive constructions ('there is/was').

• Revises sentence 3 (the synthesis of ___) unnecessarily — synthesis is the topic.
• Doesn't catch expletive in sentences 2 and 4.
